SCULPTRA

Restore volume to your face and stimulate collagen production.
ABOUT SCUPLTRA
Sculptra is an injectable that helps restore facial volume that has been lost due to aging by stimulating collagen production.
Sculptra is made from a synthetic material called poly-L-lactic acid, which is gradually and naturally absorbed by the body as it works to replace lost collagen.
What IT is
Sculptra (PLLA) is a bio-stimulating treatment that works by addressing the underlying cause of aging skin from loss of collagen. Once injected in the face, Sculptra stimulates the natural growth of new collagen. This leads to restoration of facial volume over time and a dramatic improvement of the skin texture. Results are natural and become noticeable after 2-4 sessions (based on individual concerns).
how it works
Sculptra is administered through a series of strategic injections. The injection sites will be individualized and placed to target specific areas of volume loss and wrinkles. Each session can typically be completed in 60-90 minutes and should be approximately 4-6 weeks apart. Subtle results can typically be seen within a month of treatment. These results continue to build as new collagen is produced taking up to 6 months in most patients - results depend on each patient's metabolism and skin.

FAQs
-
Unlike other dermal fillers, Sculptra typically requires a series of treatment sessions to achieve optimal results. The number of sessions vary depending on the patient's current volume loss and desired outcome. Typically, 3-4 sessions are recommended. Each session should be approximately 4-6 weeks apart.
-
You may experience mild stinging or pinching sensation during the injection process. Topical numbing agents can be utilized to lessen discomfort.
-
There's little to no downtime. Immediately after the procedure, there may be redness, bruising, swelling, tenderness and/or itching at or near the injection sites. These symptoms are normal and should resolve within a few days. But for this reason, we do not recommend scheduling your appointment right before a big event.
-
One of the advantages of Sculptra is its longevity. The effects of Sculptra can last up to 2 years or more but maintenance treatments may be necessary to maintain desired results over time. Please note, individual results vary.
-
Sculptra and dermal fillers are different. Sculptra works by stimulating collagen production thus helping to restore facial volume naturally. Dermal fillers work by adding a gel-like substance called hyaluronic acid into the areas of volume loss. Sculptra typically lasts 2-4 years while dermal fillers last around 10-12 months. Dermal fillers can be dissolved, if needed, however Sculptra cannot. Sculptra can be administered after dermal fillers to create immediate volume and longer lasting results.
